Who is The Antichrist?

There is much said by people of all persuasions and faiths about "The Antichrist" that is supposed to enter the world in the last days. Most of these people believe that this person called "The Antichrist" will make his entrance into the world as the last thing to happen before the events called "Armageddon" and "The Final Judgment" occur (See the "Armageddon" article on this same web page). These folks "know" that they will certainly recognize "The Antichrist" when he appears and therefore they will be able to easily avoid his traps.

Satan has had a lot of success with this "Antichrist" scam because it made people feel safe from his efforts while they were waiting for this really bad dude called "The Antichrist" to appear. Unhappily, what they didn't realize was that Satan had sneaked up on them from behind while they were distracted looking the other way.

Even a cursory look through the written word of our Eloah, Whose name is Yahuwah (yah-hoo-wah'), will dispel all of these ideas about a single entity called "The Antichrist." You will find no such person as "The Antichrist" mentioned anywhere in the scripture because there is no such person as "The Antichrist." There is, however, a "spirit of antichrist" and it has been with us, and doing very successful work under the supervision of its master Satan, since the time of the formation of the assembly.

Just as soon as there was the Spirit of "Christ" among us, the spirit of antichrist began to function too. (Antichrist is a transliteration of a Greek word (avnti, cristoj - an-tee'-khris-tos) that literally means "an opponent of the Anointed." The Greek word "christos" means the same thing as the Ibriy (Hebrew) word "mashiach" means, and that is "anointed." This word is also rendered in Daniy'el (Daniel) 9:25 and 26 as Messiah.)

All of the passages in scripture that directly use the term "antichrist" are found in the first and second epistles of Yahuchanan (John). There are other references to the first and second beasts of Revelation found throughout scripture, such as calling the second beast "the son of perdition," etc. Yahuchanan tells us in his epistles how to recognize and identify this spirit of antichrist (see 1 Yahuchanan 2:18, 2:22, 4:3, and 2 Yahuchanan 1:7). Read and study these verses and the scripture surrounding them for the full and true context of the subject matter. (This principle always applies to all quoted references on any scriptural subject and should be adhered to rigorously. Always check what you are told, or what you read, against the source to make sure that you are getting the true and correct information. We have been lied to many times previously, and before it's over, we will be lied to many times again. Remember that Yahushua called Satan a "liar and a murderer from the beginning.")

So where does this idea of a single entity called "The Antichrist" come from? Most likely this idea is like so many of the other false ideas found in modern "Christianity" and has developed over the years from the introduction of some pagan idea into the early assembly that was soon accepted by all. As Lenin was fond of saying, if you tell the same lie often enough it soon becomes taken as the truth. Another possible source is that some "theological" leader from long ago thought they understood some point better than scripture defined it, made their idea a doctrine of their faith, and all of their people accepted it without questioning or verifying it in scripture. That is how most of the pagan and false doctrines that are so deeply ingrained in today's so-called Christianity got there, and most of them were from the accommodations provided for pagan doctrines by what was to become the Roman Catholic Church. That body has allowed so many pagan doctrines to be accepted as "gospel truth" that what they now practice as Christianity bears little or no resemblance to what is found in scripture.

The Endtime Players Described
There are actually four players in this prophecy concerning the spirit of antichrist who will have a large impact on world events prior to the return of Yahushua. They are the dragon, the first beast, the second beast, and the false prophet.

The Dragon
The dragon that is in the endtime prophecy should immediately be recognized as Satan, as can be seen in the two verses below. He is the source of the power for this beast that people keep calling "The Antichrist." As a matter of fact, Satan is the source of the "spirit of antichrist" just as our Eloah is the source of the Sacred Spirit.

The False Prophet

There is not much said in the book of Revelation about this false prophet and he is not clearly differentiated from the second beast. It is possible that they are the same entity. There are no particular attributes listed for him in Revelation. However, there are references throughout scripture to a person that sounds like this guy, and it appears that he will lend his support to the beast to convince people that he is deserving to be called Elohiym. One thing that is sure is that he is definitely another servant of Satan.

The First Beast

As you do more study on this first beast you will begin to notice that this entity sounds much more like an organization than an individual person. Based on current events and how the prophecy is unfolding it is a distinct possibility that this first beast is the organization known as the United Nations.

The Second Beast

The characteristics of this second beast are those of an individual person. This is the man who will be ruling over the "One World Government."

Defining the Beast Indicators
Scripture says that in the end times these two beasts will arise to do certain things contrary to the will and kingdom of Yahuwah. There are some things that will happen as this prophecy is being fulfilled that, if we are vigilant, we will be able to tell when they arrive. These beasts (Greek "therion" thay-ree'-on that means a dangerous animal) are separate and distinct entities but they work together to produce all of the effects that are attributed to the single entity erroneously called by modern man "The Antichrist."

Below are the major attributes that people think the single entity they call "The Antichrist" will have.

1. He will receive a deadly wound in "one of his heads" but has a miraculous recovery.

2. He will cause people to worship Satan and himself.

3. He will blaspheme the name of our Eloah, Yahuwah.

4. He will make war with the saints of Yahuwah.

5. He will head a worldwide religion.

6. He will do miraculous things that will make people believe what he says.

7. He's the one who gives people the "mark of the beast."

There have been many books written naming this person or the other as The Antichrist, from the pope in medieval times to Winston Churchill to Richard Nixon to all the various leaders of the extinct USSR. All of these books of course use the number 666 and force it to somehow fit these various people's names. That this is a man is reasonably certain but nobody really knows who he may be or even if he is around yet. More on who this may be later.

Since we should now be aware that there is no single entity in scripture that is called "The Antichrist," then we should not be looking for these things to happen to or be caused by one person. Some of the attributes people assign to this "Antichrist" belong to the first beast, found in Revelation 13:1-10, and some of the attributes belong to the second beast. The second beast and his attributes are found after those of the first beast in Revelation 13:11-18. The false prophet is mentioned in conjunction with the unclean spirits that gather Satan's forces for war with the saints of Yahuwah.

By the way, these will be real events that will really happen to real people in real time. It's pretty obvious that this first beast is a nasty creature that some people are going to willingly worship and the second beast that forces that worship is pretty nasty himself. But people are going to think he is the savior of the world.

Many people have a picture of Satan as being an evil appearing man, dressed in a red suit, with a forked tail, horns, a pitchfork, and smelling of brimstone. They also think that the first beast, second beast, and false prophet will be horrible entities that anyone could recognize as evil. DON'T YOU BELIEVE IT FOR A SECOND! People are going to willingly accept and worship both beasts. They are going to willingly receive the beasts' mark. They are going to listen to the false prophet and willingly believe that he is telling them the truth. They are willingly going to believe that the second beast is Yahuwah and follow after him gladly and with willing hearts. His outward appearance is going to be as a compassionate, gentle, and beautiful person and no one will penetrate his disguise for awhile. So you be looking for a person who literally saves the world from some great disaster, causes them to come together in a way that has been unprecedented in the history of mankind, and is counted as one of mankind's greatest heroes. Then beware! That person is likely to be the second beast. Pray that you die in Yahushua before he comes.

It is very probable that the organization comprising the first beast is already in place and the persons who are the second beast and/or the false prophet are already alive on the earth or soon will be as theorized above. So quit looking for this composite person called "The Antichrist" and pay attention to what is going on around you.

There is some information that has come to light in recent days that leads to a distinct possibility that the second beast will arise out of islam and will be the person they are looking for as their "messiah." They call him "Al-Mahdi" and he is supposed to lead the islamic nations in a jihad of world conquest. After his successful conquest he will then establish his islamic government worldwide. Those who refuse to accept islam and convert will be beheaded. Those who accept dhimmi status (second class without any rights) will be allowed to live, but the conditions of a dhimmi in islam is much worse than that any slave ever dreamed of. Those who are not of the "proper faith," meaning islam, will be marked to distinguish them from those who are. They will not be allowed to buy or sell unless they have this mark. Sound familiar?

Osama bin Laden has even made the attempt to identify himself with this mystical figure by adopting the middle name "Muhammad." That is supposed to one of the fulfillments of the prophecy concerning this guy is that he will have the name of the "prophet" Muhammad.

However there is nothing that you can do and nothing that you should do to cause things to be any different. The plan that is coming to fruition is the plan of Yahuwah our Father and the Master of all. All of these bad guys are but bit players in His drama and have no power to injure or otherwise bother true believers and followers of Yahushua. Besides, there is nothing that you can or should attempt do to alter that plan or you'll be found fighting against Yahuwah and that is not a good place to be found.

The imminent return of Yahushua is the major news story of this age and that event is what we must be looking for and preparing for. He told us to leave the evil to look after itself MattithYahuw [Matthew] 6:34.

The only thing for the individual to do, that it is imperative that he does, is to get into the body of Yahushua (the assembly) by obeying the scripture (see Acts 2:37-38, Rhomaios 6, Acts 22:16. etc.), meeting the conditions set out there, and being washed in the blood of Yahushua haMashiach (the Christ). Then be found doing the will of Yahuwah when the time comes. Therein lies salvation. Nowhere else!
